Happy New Year!!!

Wow!  I can’t believe how quickly 2013 has already come and gone.  It seems like it was just yesterday when I was preparing for new beginnings and optimistic for what the year would have in store for me.  At the time, I was a newlywed taking some time off from teaching to do some serious soul-searching to figure out what direction I wanted to proceed in career wise.  As a girl of many talents, I was curious to explore some of my other interests as career options.  To be completely honest, it was a pretty stressful time for me due to the fact that I’m an avid planner and hated feeling lost, but it only took me about 6 months of doddling before I figured things out.  Of course I returned to teaching, realizing that it is what I’m meant to do.  I also made the decision to enroll in a master’s program in Reading Education and couldn’t be more happy with both decisions!

The past six months have been a whirlwind for me.  Teaching full time again while starting my Master’s degree has taken more of my time than I had anticipated.  Although time-consuming, I couldn’t be more excited about the work I am doing in my Master’s program.  I absolutely LOVE it!! And while I was counting down the days for the much needed winter break from teaching, I am anxiously awaiting the start of my second semester of grad school… yep, I’m a nerd!  :)

Today I wanted to stop in and first off wish everyone a very happy new year!  But I also wanted to stop in and share with you some of my New Year’s resolutions.  I found this adorable printable from Thirty Handmade Days to record some of my hopes and dreams for 2014. In thinking about my hopes and dreams for this next year, lots of warm fuzzies come to mind.  First, Danny and I will be spending the entire summer abroad with 4 1/2 weeks in Europe followed by 4 weeks in South Africa.  I’ve never been so excited for summer time!!  I hope the next six months fly by!! ;)  Haha.  Second, we are considering starting our family.  {The thought still scares me just a little!}  And of course it won’t even be a consideration until sometime after our summer abroad.  :) Keeping those two in mind, I filled out my 2014 New Year’s resolution sheet as the following:

What a list… so much to do!  I can’t wait to see how much of this I’ve accomplished come this time next year!  What about you?  What are your New Year’s resolutions??  I would love to hear them. Please comment below and share your hopes and dreams for 2014.

Wishing you the happiest of New Year’s!  See you soon!
